I went 2 years ago on my r1 with a Milwaukee factory akro on. It makes 118db in the uk (static) & I had no problems.

I would also lock the filter on with a jubilee clip as I've seen 4 (mine included that was tightened with a genuine yam tool) come loose this year.

I use gt85 on mine but really you shouldn't need to use anything as the plastic part shouldn't drag on the bar anyway.
