Re: 2015 - R1/R1M brakes

Brembo SC pads make a big difference. I should have a Brembo RCS19 m/c arriving in a few days along with Brembo SP pads for the rear so I'll post up …login to view the rest of this post

Re: Another New member from Scotland

Just picked up the bike this morning and it looks lovely.

Haven't ridden it yet as still have a 6 hour drive home with it in the van once it has had this done to it.

Thinking of an ECU flash very soon. Mainly want to smooth out throttle at lower revs and reduce or get rid of most of the popping and banging on over…login to view the rest of this post

Hi guys/gals

I've just picked up my 2015 R1 today and having read a few times that the brakes are not as what you would expect on a bike like this, i…login to view the rest of this post

Re: Another New member from Scotland

I've had a look around and at reviews online and it seems that 1 of the weaknesses of the bike is the brakes.

Is there an easy option to rectify this, or is it a case of having to disable the abs and reflash the ECU to run a standard braking system?

Re: Another New member from Scotland

Thanks guys.

I'll go have a look at the evotech (had 1 on my Blade).

I'll give a review of the bike once I ride it for a decent few miles against the blade.

Re: Another New member from Scotland

Finally put a deposit down on a bike today to be picked up next weekend. Bike is completely standard in red (I have a plan to change this up a bit) and I've ordered up the Akra slipon already. Was going to get the link pipe but don't like the look of the bike without the exhaust infil panels, (looks...

Re: Another New member from Scotland

Decided to leave buying the new bike till next year, as it'll just bay laying in the garage till March at the earliest.

If I bougt it now, I'd end up just buying a load of bits for the bike that it doesn't even need. (Trust me I've been down that road big time)

Re: Another New member from Scotland

Welcome from another Colin from Scotland. The 60th is a lovely bike. Where would you be buying from? I've had a couple of quotes for the new R1. 1 local to my work up in Aberdeen and another from a mate from another forum who works in a Yamaha/Honda dealership. It'll come down to who's wanting my b...

Moffat is my usual stopping point midway through my usual run out on the bike. Great place to base yourself for a decent days riding.

Another New member from Scotland

Hi guys Looking at buying a new R1 (60th Anniversary edition) in the next few weeks so no doubt I'll have a few questions later on. About myself, staying south of Glasgow towards the Scottish Borders so have plenty of good roads nearby. Currently just sold my 2010 Blade, and also have a 2009 Blade t...
