Re: Hi
Welcome in Alan
Hope you have a good experience with our community they're a good bunch . Give us a bit more about yourself and your biking history so we can get to know you .
This forum is more of a community with a few members doing regular track days , the odd get together and plenty of help , the more you get involved the more more you'll get out of the forum .
Just remember to take everything with a pinch of salt and take nothing to heart as the guys love to have a bit of banter .
Ohh and pics of the bike are a bonus

Re: Hi
Cheers,
Biking history I have been on two wheels almost as long as I could walk
Rode a lot of Trials bikes in my youth because my folks though it would get the bug out of my system early and prevent me from ever doing the road thing. This clearly didnt work as i started my first road experiance as early as I could CBT and TS 50 , soon got bored of that and picked up a RS125. At 18 then had a bit of a break back to trials till was 21 and did my direct access on to a GPZ 500S (horrible bike). then came my first R6. A 1999 black silver and orange model which i dabbled in a few track days and went to the IOM on. Went back to trials for a few years. and then did a bit of traveling now back on the roads with an 07 R6 and loving it all over again.
I have a fair level of mechanical experience over the years and look forward to advice from others and trying to pass on the benefit of my own experience

Re: Hi
Haha just catching up here makes an interesting
Its blue and black, got some subtle extras like braided hoses, adjustable levers, steering damper. Carbon front mudguard and black double bubble.
Have purchased seat hump, tail tidy 7x5 plate, mini indicators, and that will do for a few paydays .
Gonna take some proper photos at weekend when I start making changes.

Re: Hi
Hi Alan,
A newbie here too, recently back to biking, biggest shocker so far is the insurance, having been away for 12 years, I might as well be an 18 year old trying to insure a bike, oh well time to build up some no claims

Re: Hi
I just got a quote for my R1... been riding R1’s continuously for 13 years... well I do stop to sleep ..... I’m now retired, 58 years young, passed my advanced motorcycle test, full NCB, last accident I had that was my fault.... well the only one actually was in 1978.... the quote.... fir 4K miles pa, social domestic and pleasure only £980.... I told them to take a long walk off a short pier
The meerkats quoted me £258.... that’s more like it..... shop around it’s may save a few quid
