Hi all

Post by MikePotter »

Hi everyone,
I have been after a 2CR R1 ever since they came out and never took the plunge until now. I’ve had a Zx10R, Panigale and S1000RR along with a Tuono Factory. Well now I have finally bitten the bullet and picked up a 2016 Anniversary R1. I’m struggling to not go into the garage every free moment I’ve got just to look at the bike. Work is petty hectic at the moment so have only been out the once.

The bike came with the shirt Akra slip in and Ti link pipe. I’m planning on some trackdays at Silverstone and Donington next year so will need to take the plunge into a quieter system. I have reinstalled the cat box but not before removing both catalysts. I’m not sure if this will be quiet enough for sub 105db? I’ve seen the Spark and Seton systems but budget rules then out at present especially after needing the flash adding to both. Does anyone have any feedback on the 450mm Pipewerx exhausts?

Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,

I have an Arrow full system with no cat and it's fine. I have two end cans, one is loud (approx 112-115db drive by), with the baffle in that end can I run fine at Silverstone with a 102-103db drive by. The second can is longer and with the baffle in it was tested at Snet and recorded 98db static.

https://www.arrow.it/en/assembled/1400" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I have the Competition Evo system in Titanium.

The longer end can I have is Arrow Part Number - 5891120 (350mm Silencer) and it cost £475.20 including VAT from B&C Express.

Obviously, with a full system, you will need to get the bike mapped to stop it running lean and there you have 3 options, Flash-Tune, Woolich racing and YEC kit ECU and loom. I have the Woolich remap at the moment and it's good but I think any of the above will generally get you the same result.

Hope this helps.

Hi Mike, welcome to the forum and congratulations on getting your anniversary R1. Some of the guys on here have said the new anniversary models suffer from stone chips, it may well be worth looking at fitting some protection.... not a condom lol... but some protection film for the fairings, venture shield is good (no I don’t have shares in them) but they have protected my bikes for years and well worth the investment

Enjoy the bike and the forum, oh and post up a pic, we never tire of looking at R1’s, especially anniversary ones

Welcome

Stephen

Hi Mike,
I like the look of the pipewerx exhausts, and i think i'm going to
have a ride to visit the shop this winter.
I've a 300mm silencer at the moment and without the db killer it's
to loud.
Is it not 400mm though?
