Hey guys, not really been on here for while, good to be back

Post by jayj »

Hi all, Bought an R6, sold it and got an R1, found it a little heavier and even even after changing the gearing too much for the road. So I bought an ktm 1190. Love it, but missed the R6. So, I’ve bought another one and it’s good to be back. Pictures soon

And the 1190a, although it’s an old pic, changed the spots to round ones and done a few other bits to it since this pic.

I have to say, having gone from the r6, to the r1 sausage and back to the r6, I much prefer the 6 on the road. Power is sooo Much more usable for me, much better in the country lanes handling wise. I am a happy man!

Hiya stu
This has been looked in to a few times with the R1 as well as the R6 . The problem is that the wall of the liner and the liners are so close together that it's a bastard of a job and the guys have only found a couple of so companies that will do it but the expense means it's not very practical .
There's a couple of threads on here about it but the forum search engine a bit sh!t to say the least so you'll have to dig around .
If your hanging around the forum it'd be a good idea to start your own newbie thread in the newbie section with a bit about yourself and your bike so we can welcome you in and get to know you ;)
Update
Here's one thread on the difficulties of sorting the R1 owners which I believe but not 100% sure are fitted the same as the R6

Another edit
Again an R1 but interesting read , I think it's page 4 you need
