Evening

Post by Jimbo vills »

Just bought myself a 2016 R1 which I'll be stripping to track and race....

Wanted a race ready one but decided that least this way I'll know the bike and get to learn it again. Loved R1's for years and had a 2004 which was epic on the road, but been itching for a new one a while.

Still un decided on spec tbh but found the forum useful for gaining info already!!

Cheers guys, Jimbo 8-)

Well in a nutshell:

Passed test at 16.
age 19 - fzr 400 - got banned. had a 'break' for a couple of years.
age 22-25 had a vfr400 nc30 - still got it.
age 26 - 2008 R6 new on the road, few track days and started touring.
2011 - New Blade - Toured on it, road riding, crashed it, stored it. Bought 2004 R1 road bike and touring.
2012 to 2013 - road riding and touring. Had some Epic tours!
2014- Sold R1. Bought a speed triple R - love it, haven't used it much :(
2014 - converted the blade for track and started racing.
2015 - mainly racing and breaking bones / bank balance. Sold blade
2016 - bought 2015 zx10 - raced it, loved it. But only a handful of rounds. sold zx10
2017 - bought 959 (mad idea with mates) raced bsb ducati cup. done three rounds and family circumstance meant a breather for a few months.
2018 - sold ducati. Bought R1.....

jeez. reading that i sound like a right idiot! lol

Welcome, yes, I'm sure you'll fit right in!

Good luck with the new bike. The electronics should help. :)
