Good morning fellow yammy owners ......
Ive recently purchased a 07 R1 4c8 , ive only done about 400 miles on her ,but yesterday on a ride out with the mrs on the back from Exeter to Bridport (West Bay ) i noticed that she was spluttering through the gears up to and around 3000 rpm , on tick over she is fine and after 3000 rpm she is ok aswell . My bike has 15000 genuine miles on the clock ,i am not experiancing any other problems like back-firing ,although she did cut out once at 10 mph but fired straight back up again .
I am thinking it could be 1 or more coil packs ( if it is a "coil pack" is there any way of testing without specialist equipment ) or is it a plug breaking down ,or could it be 'dirty fuel ' ,or could it be something else ???? your help and expertise would be gratefully recieved .

Welcome in Andy
Not much fun it bogging down with the Mrs on the back
Do you know if it's still got the Exup valve fitted ?
Boggng down at low revs can be the Exup valve being stuck open so it'd be best to check the Exup first , you should be able to down load the workshop and parts manual from the 4c8 section

Good advice from the jompster start simple exup valve then if not plugs keep it simple thatโs normally the key Have a look around the site loads of info on the valve from other users.jompy wrote: โMon May 07, 2018 10:13 am Welcome in Andy

Thanks lads ,
Well ive checked the ex-up valve , via the ignition and by disconnecting the cables , both are working ok and freely ,just one of the cables needed alot of adjusting !!!!

Re: 07 R1 spluttering at low revs ?
Once again thanks to all your expertise . This morning i did the final checks to the exup valve and the cables . Final adjustments made to the location tab and matks on the exup valve and adjustment to the cables to there recommended tolerances .
Today was the first time ive managed to get out on her on my own (without the mrs on the back) quickly to check if the low revs spluttering had dissapeared ,and they have done and she is back to her normal smooth self .
Again many many thanks .
