Hello all...
2009 Big Bang for me. Best bike I've ever ridden. It was my all weather commute, even with snow on the ground but now it's my toy.
She needs some TLC after being neglected for a while so I've started to strip her back a bit and clean her up. I've got very basic mechanical knowledge and skills but big balls and will tackle most jobs.
Yesterday I cut the old chain off and replaced the sprockets, today I'll be fitting the new chain.
I'm looking to glean knowledge off yoose lot in the know!
Cheers!

Re: Hello There!
Welcome to the forum mate, the bangers are a fantastic bike, like you, I used to commute on my R1 all year round .
I found scottoil 365 spray helped keep the bike in good nick during the winter months, she would get a good douse every week when washed and each night when I returned from work, you can see it neutralising any salt on the bike, it goes from a clear liquid (no salt) to a creamy white where the salt is ... used to spray it on a hot bike so all the smoke from it would get into the nook and crannies.... the whole bike got a soaking appear from brakes, tyres, seat and grips .... the bikes maintained their good looks
