Welcome in Stan
The 5vy is a great bike ,👍
I think you've come to the right place , although the forum is quiet this time of year .
SteveR1 did his average poll this year again and most active members are in they're 50's and we have a couple of 70 year olds and the aveage age is 53 .
As for track days theres a number of track day riders in here , a few of them stick mainly to the 2015+ section so make sure you have a look in there and a few of the old members that don't come in so often but pop in once in a blue moon do European track days 👍
And one of the original members is an instructer for no limits (PJC) and FLUTE is also an instructor ( when hes on )
I hope you enjoy the forum

Hi Stan, and welcome to the beautiful world of R1 ownership, as Jompy (John) or as we know him... monkey face... for his love of tea...(think PG) at 50, you are a young un...

The 5vy is a truly amazing R1 and it was my first R1 too. I never regretted getting her... she excelled in everything... track, commute, twisty roads, long haul runs... she did every and more.... we did over 65,000 miles in just under three years... with only the TPS being replaced, oh and the wheels.. the paint flaked, she had two days of her warranty left and Yamaha replaced them.... how cool is that

You have got yourself an amazing bone and an awesome track weapon...

Welcome

Stephen
