Welcome to the forum Rob, cracking R1 you have, these latest generation R1’s are amazing.

Tell us a bit about your biking history, what bikes you have had, what you liked about them, what you changed

Join in the banter, have a laugh with us, mostly at Jompys expense, he will be along in a bit, he is always monkeying around and his ideas on the perfect R1... well they leave a lot to be desired..

Welcome Stephen

Well I’ve only been riding for about 5 years, first bike was a 2014 MT07. This was a great first bike bloody loved it, However last Christmas I have a bit of good fortune. I’d entered a RevCopms competition and well to cut a long story I won the 2nd prize a brand new R1... I couldn’t believe it and I’m still amazed I did. Not done much to her yet as it had a few trick bits on already. Saving to get a link pipe and a reflash. Always looking to improve my riding so will be doing some advanced stuff in the future hopefully. And breathe lol 😂

Rob, the guys on here know all about flashing the R1, indeed MikeR1 the owner of the forum owns Velox racing and specialises in flashing the ECU.

Jompy and DanF1 can advise more than me

I expected you to agree saying....

They won’t give blue ones away .....

Because they command a big price premium

Welcome, that must be the best newbie story yet.

Be warned that they are VERY loud after a decat. There's a few here who haven't done it for that reason.

That was a great result Rob. As Duncan says, quite a few of us have kept the cat. I did think of decatting my R1M, and at the time I got it, another member in here got one, and decatted it... it was loud... I mean offensively loud... it made my ears hurt...

Now that was an Ackrapovic decat with Ackrapovic can.... there are other fan and decat options available that are not as loud....

When my previous R1’s have been decatted... they were loud, but would pass a quiet track day noise limit of 102 dB ..., if I decatted my M with an Ackrapovic... it would make around 110 dB.... too loud for both road and track...

So look in the 2CR section on here to see what the guys have done ImageImage
