Shall I should start a shindengen thread on the 4xv section, and add to it as I fit it?

Did you order a wiring kit with the reg/rec?

Yeah I ordered the same kit I used on my sp1.
If you could still post a few pics of how yours is fitted and wires routed so I've got an idea of how others have done it that would be great cheers

You've probably fitted the new reg/rec by now but here are some photos. There's not much to see with the rear cowling in place so I hope they help.

The plug to the stator. Image
This shows the new cables from the reg/rec to the battery.
The wiring in the bottom left is nothing to do with the reg/rec. It's a direct feed to the headlight and horn relays.
