Bike not running correctly.

Post by R1 Phil »

Hi, I have an 2004 R1 with only 13.000 miles. Anyway having owned this bike for 12 years It now seems I have a problem with the motor going on to 3 cylinders when idling..but clears when warmed up.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome in Phil
could be a number of things from HT lead braking down or coil pack ( i believe the 5v y has one on each plug ) to wiring
Hope someone can shed more light for you 👍

Have you done a throttle body sync? If its clears when hot? Are you losing any coolant? Have you tried some millers fuel treatment? Do you have a power commander fitted?

Okay get some millers but disconct the power commander and see how it runs. If ok then millers an throttle body sync. Good luck let us me know how you get on.
