Lincoln England. I've just bought my first Yamaha since a 2000 R6. I've had dozens of Kawasaki's, ZX6R's and ZX10R's. I've two current ZX10's and now a R1 (they seem to have lots of exit drive so I thought I'd try one!). I do a lot of track days (32 UK days to date) and a good handful of Euro's thrown in. I'm interested in gleaning a handful of technical info for set up, best suspension set up advice etc, tyres that best suit the bike etc etc. Anyway, Hello!!!

welcome in... there's a few trackdayers here on here (and even a nl instructor lurking around)
we've done a couple of uk (and euros) trackdays as a group over the years
(3 members are currently out in Alcarras)

is that 32 this year ?
if so that is some good going... most I've managed in a year is 21 days on track

due to the lack of weekend uk trackdays this year I've only managed 2 uk days this year :(
(snett and bedford)
but 4 euros (cartagena/mugello/aragon) and one to go.. the fe mix and match as a year ender (Almeria/Andalucía/Espana)

Hi everyone, I've just joined and live in Kent. I'm on the wrong side of 60 but ridden bikes since I was 16.
Currently have 4 bikes and recently bought an 2002 R1 with 4000 miles on it and it's in perfect condition having been stored for the last 12 years, just waiting for the lockdown to finish so I can go out on it.
I was looking for a Honda SP2 but the R1 looked to good to turn down.
Look forward to chatting to you soon.

Hi Alan
I think the average age on here is in the 50's with one regular member in his 70's and a number of members in they're 60's 👍
Thats bloody low milage , do you know if its a late registered 5jj with carbs or the 5pw first of the injection models ?
You might want to start your own newbie thread and copy and paste the above onto it as you'll get more of a welcome with your own thread

Near Watford, or to be more precise, close to M25 J18 if anyone is passing by and wants a journey break and a brew :handgestures-thumbup:

Welcome in Rob
You might get more resopnse if you start your own newbie thread and because we're a bunch of nosey fuckers if you can put a bit about your biking history we can work out if you're a closet Gixer gayboy or a pipe and smoking jacket Honda rider 😂
