Hi All,

Been around bikes since school days - just bought my first R1 (2006 5VY). :D

Looking forward to learning lots about the bike - especially trackday mods. :techie-reference:

Based in Lancashire – just 40 minutes from Oulton.

Hi Chaz, if you put a post in the 'newbies' forum you'll get a proper welcome from the guys, post some pics of your bike too. In the mean time - welcome Image

Hi all
I'm back in the Yamaha family again with a 09 big bang in black.
Wrong time of year I suppose, can't wait till spring for a decent ride tho.
Doing a few mods: tailtidy, rear peg removal & Variobars.
Although can't see how to remove battery box without taking tank off to move loom for bolt. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome in Jeremy
It's a while since I've been to Bournemouth but I'll never forget that weekend , never paid for a taxi with a burger before
Your best bet for a decent welcome is to start your own newbie post in the newbies section with a bit about yourself and your biking history ;)

Am I the only one who thinks it a tad odd we have "where are you from" and "how did you find us" stickies which should be rather essential to a proper intro post?

Maybe a better intro layout is in order?

Name
Location
Current motorbike (pics always welcome)
How'd you find us (Google, other member, etc)
A bit about yourself (hobbies, interests, etc)

Just a thought as it seems a little broken up at the moment. Not saying we have to be all uptight about it, but it gives a good sense of what to put in the intro post other than, "looking for hard to find parts".

Know what you mean bud but hardly anyone reads what they're meant to put in a newbie post anyway , a lot of the time it "hi I've got this problem ?"

Very true, and they do vaguely resemble instructions, which we all know no man needs.

Christopher Columbus didn't need directions to find India and neither do we.
