Thats sh!tMaxime06 wrote:Eko wrote:I've explained it in another topic, until jan 1st we had a law saying the max power is 100hp, since jan 1st for euro4 bikes we don't have this anymore because it's a european regulation indeed.
The issue is the r1 is euro 3 so they must create another law saying the retrofit if possible for euro3 bikes.
In clear, unleashing the power.
The law is written, ready to sign and was supposed to be signed in jan, but as you can imagine no politician wants to put his name on this paper.
But yamaha has anticipated the signature and has built full power euro 3 bikes for France... Which are now not street legal!
To give you an example, yamaha dealers have tons of mt09 in stock and cannot deliver it to the customers because of this...
Fun situation, no??
Had a discussion with my dealer in France.
So the law has been signed early March however before it is effective a number of things still need to happen and are yet to happen in the mean time the bike are not even sent to the distributors.
My dealer is hopeful that the law will be published next week (first step of a two step process before euro3 bikes can be delivered)
So if your bike is due end of April, you should be just fine.
I just hope they won't send our bike over to the U.K. Due to the delay.
You want to know the best even my bike which won't be road registered can be delivered before the issue is fixed as Yamaha France won't let my dealer have it......
Ah ma belle France.....

The law has been approved by state but still needs to be signed off, meaning by a minister who happens to be Segolene Royal. I bet she won't put her name on a document which says "free power for all road delinquents " in her understanding of things.Maxime06 wrote:Eko wrote:I've explained it in another topic, until jan 1st we had a law saying the max power is 100hp, since jan 1st for euro4 bikes we don't have this anymore because it's a european regulation indeed.

I also asked for the bike to be delivered without road papers... Impossible it seems.
Let's wait and hope!

Called Yamaha France today: they will release your bike for track use only if you sign a disclaimer with your dealer.Eko wrote:The law has been approved by state but still needs to be signed off, meaning by a minister who happens to be Segolene Royal. Re: Nico, 42, Parisian, waiting for my 1M !
Some news finally...
http://www.moto-journal.fr/news/regleme ... e-dun-abs/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The law is signed and published. My dealer called and informed that my bike will probably be delivered next week, or the next one the latest.
Meaning I'll finally be riding it within 15 days...
It's about time, I was looking at the zx10...
I'll keep you posted, of course!

Iconic bikes.
24 years difference, of course the R1 is much better but the difference is thinner than if you would be putting a 92 Gsxr next to the Yam...
