Post by daviemcw »

hi everyone, davie here and im another newbie from scotlandshire, bought my 2008 (4c8) R1 a year ago and have managed to cover approx 300 miles since then..scotland remember.. great roads (except renfrewshire )but sh!te weather!!!. bike is pretty much standard apart from full akraprovic exh system, double bubble screen, aftermarket levers and bar grips.
had problems starting it recently and even after charging the battery it struggled to fire, new battery fitted yesterday and fired first time but seem to have lost the lcd display now..any ideas guy?
cheers

Hi bud,

I don't know if its the same on the 07-08, but on the 04-06 there is a big white connector under the right side ram air scoop that connects the clocks / lights etc to the main loom.

This connector is famous for corroding and causing headlight / LCD display faults.

Welcome in, as others have said its got to be a fuse or wiring somewhere.
Someone else posted a problem recently about their clocks, the rev counter was stuck at 8500rpm I am sure. Cant remember if he got it fixed or not though
