Newbie ( well old newbie )

Post by mrmark118 »

Hi Everyone
Newbie here from portchester .
Off to pick up my first R1 at lunch time and getting a bit excited now !
Its an 03 and I found it on piston heads , funny thing is when I asked the guy why he was selling it he said he was getting a bit old so
I asked his age 39 and he has had the bike from new .
Well I'm 49 lol just hope I am not the oldest member .
Great forum you have here .
Mark

Welcome Mark

Welcome in, hope the bike is all you want, get some pics posted once you have caught your breath 8-) What colour is she and is she in standard spec.

You are defo not the oldest on here. I am happy to report you are 2 years my senior

Can't believe he thinks he is too old at 39, especially as the 5PW (If that is what it is) has a reputation as a bit of a cruiser :P :P (That should stir up the natives)

Have a great ride and enjoy her

Thanks for the welcomes
Bike is still on piston heads , the only silver one if you want a lookie , standard bike apart from the levers , one owner and full service history , new tyres .
A few bits ill have to sort out cos im fussy like rusty disc rotor bolts and paint flaking on the engine ,
No worries about the piss taking as im used to it ( being ginger ) lol
Pick it up at 12 and cant wait , had my old bike for 13 years but always wanted an R1 , better late than never I guess .

Carried on regardless being a double hard bastard and it soon stopped , quick blast up the A3m then down to hilsea roundabout .
All I can say is wow this bike is awesome and goes like bloody sh!t off a shovel , its like on rails , deffo a keeper so my firestorm is now for sale ill miss the massive engine braking but not the handling .
