my recommendation has to be a 5jj - most of the lunacy of the 4xv & silky smooth carb throttle response and 150 subtle changes to include sharpening up the iconic look & you'll have some spare pennies for new lid, leathers etc & already more bike than is truly necessary for the road with its alleged 170 mph

Re: Hello all
At the end of the day we all have our preferences, to be fair there isn’t a bad R1.... well apart from that 09 one I had... lol
Andy, whichever way you go, the bike you get will be your pride and joy, she needs to tick all the right boxes for you... not us... you... you will pay for her, ride her, clean and maintain her.... she needs to be right for you....
Look around, test ride as many as you can and your heart will tell you which one to buy..... it really is as simple as that

Re: Hello all
And that’s why this site is so cool we all like different thing about our r1’s Steve likes a bike that sounds like it misfires I like a screaming inline four. But we all like r1’s no one size fits all.

Re: Hello all
If you’ve got big balls mate get a 4xv 98/99.
Warning! Only real men ride these, eh Jompy.
Nothing wrong with the thunder cats mate, I ran those engines in our F2 sidecar rig, and completed the TT with no engine issues ever. Great motors.
