Post by Boredstupid »

Hi all,
Been after an r1 for a while but never managed to find one at the right time... Until last week when I bought two!
One good runner but a little scruffy, one nice and tidy with a blown motor, got both for a decent price 8-)
Had my first run out today and was really impressed 8-)
Link to photo after they arrived, if it works :D

Thanks all,

Bit of messing about with a c90 when I was a boy, brief spell on an rd125lc in my teens ( still miss !)
Took me a while to get my full licence sorted which then quickly resulted in a destroyed fzr400 and 600 a week after getting out of my cast :violin:
Couple of early r6s, one caught fire, the other just gave up one day
Done a few track days, tts and foreign trips, lots of commuting...

Based near Mansfield...

Not sure I need two bikes the same, would really like to have one nice bike and a spare set of wheels for wets or slicks (maybe I need to find another for breaking  )

Your doing well then
Fix one up & sell it then you can either get a real knacker to cannibalize or pick up parts cheap as you go along .
I'm only down the road in Derby

Well, I had an sv650 for a whole year and sold it for what I paid for it...
But there are others too, a zx7r that I was doing quite well with until I tossed it down the road at a soaking wet Silverstone
The last bike I had was a k1 GSXR 750 which looked decent and I thought was going to be in loved condition considering it just had a top spec ohlins shock fitted...
Drove 3 hours to Newcastle and it was so bad I didn't dare take it off the housing estate on the test ride it was so unsafe to ride!
Didn't really want to go home empty handed so managed to get a few quid off it...
Spent the next couple of months sorting everything out, just got it finished in time to go into the birchalls race trailer for the TT...had a good couple of weeks on the island and a week after I got home it wandered off all by itself, police didn't give a sh!t of course
So yeah I'm due a bit of good luck!
The runner needs a little love but it's solid, just going to get some miles in for now and when I get a chance take the best bits off the knackered one...
Really don't need two bikes just want to make one really nice one and keep a few bits for spare...
The rest will be broken help deal with the hammering my credit card has taken for them
