Hi Guys and girls , well iv'e only gone and done it pick up my new matte black R1 2017 model on 3rd march :D I had the 1st underseat exhaust model back in 2005 and have been around the houses having mainly suzukis gsxr750s and the latest GSXR1000R but my local dealer have shut down after 50 years of service + the false neutrals and the lack of character i decided to come back to Yamaha especially the R1 . I was fortunate enough to have pillion ride on the back of niall mckenzie at donnington last year and a test ride ensued , but i couldnt afford the full asking price , but i am now in a fortunate position to afford one and the deal has been done ........ :D I am from the leicestershire area and look forward to some great information and general sh!t shat :D and might meet up with some of you . Iam really looking forward to taking her out on track

Welcome in Curtis
Where's the pics ? :snooty:
:text-worthless:
The 2CR/2KS is section is quite busy and r1Mike owns Velox racing in the forum sponsors section who donated fair few bits for the new R1's including mail order flash tune .
There's also a few members from the leicestershire area and some of the lads do regular track days including Spain

Hi ive only been back with a R1 recently too - i also had a 2004 underseat pipe bike brand new out of the wrapper.

This time ive gone the other way and bought a 4xv but your bike looks brilliant i just dont think any other 1000 comes close with character, build quality, looks, and reliability not all four anyway. If i was going to buy a new 1000 i would have done the same.
