Newbie 4c8 rider
Hello my First post. Never really been much of a fan of face book twitter or forums. BUT THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!! I can’t put my bloody iPad down! Been riding 35 years, was a trackday fan until 2008. Then stopped when we had kids. But recently I’m getting that urge again. So this summer it’s time to dust of my old leathers dig out the tyre warmers and start again. Told the wife and her response was “well why don’t you go back to Jerez this summer” now as much as I’d love to I think I’ll start gently with Pembray My local track. Anyway that’s my first attempt at a post let’s see if it works (us carpenters shouldn’t be given tech).

Re: Newbie 4c8 rider
Welcome in mate, glad to see you have joined in. The 4C8 is an awesome bike and one of the best R1 models in my view, I still enjoy mine.
It'd be great to see some photos of your ride.

Re: Newbie 4c8 rider
Two things I’ve learned this weekend
1 I’ve been running my Dunlop’s at the wrong pressure on the road.
2 I need a flash tune! So my 4c8 two stroke can run unrestricted below 7500 rpm!
And it’s all down to you lot on this forum.

Re: Newbie 4c8 rider
Welcome in Dan
Glad your enjoying the forum , you will get out of it what you put in
Your 4c8 looks nice , as for a remap PJC's 4c8 had all the restrictions taken off and was an absolute missile !
Some of the lads do regular track days in the UK and some in Spain , they're always very welcoming to people joining in

Thanks Jompy I’ve read a fair bit of what PJC has to say about the 4c8 anD can’t wait to flash it and see what mr Yamaha had planned before the restrictions were put in place.

Christ, wood butcher in the house
Hello mate, welcome in, Damo and myself had pretty well sorted 4C8's, so if you aint sure ask away. For best results, flash, PC3/5, Full Dyno map with a flashtune dealer, sell PC3/5. Bits aint cheap for the 4c8, but if you are scratching the itch again you wont heed much. Or are we going the whole hog with the bike

Re: Newbie 4c8 rider
Thanks PJC been reading loads of your stuff on the 4c8. Got ohlins shock (couldn’t find a Penske on eBay) Ktech rds cartridge kit ,Bazzaz zfitc with self mapping but not fitted quick shifter as I’m running race shift, rear sets, woodcraft engine cases, akrapovic pipes and decat. The Bazzaz has smoothed out the fueling loads (that’s really why I got it) but it’s always been a bit flat low down, had a k5 1000 for a short while awesome low down grunt but it was like riding a mini moto, so went back to a full size bike, I am after all bigger than the average bear. got some other stuff still to fit when I get time -1 front +1 rear and it looks like I NEED a flash tune.

Re: Newbie 4c8 rider
I've got a flashed ecu for the 4c8 for sale mate. It's had the immobiliser removed so can be fitted to another bike. Was off my track bikejompy wrote:Re-map (flash)Danf1 wrote:Thanks PJC been reading loads of your stuff on the 4c8. Re: Newbie 4c8 rider
Bazzaz is not a bad unit, not too sure on the map importing though, R1Mike will be able to answer as he is site owner and also Runs velox racing online!!!!Danf1 wrote:PJC can the same be done with a Bazzaz and flash (thanks jompy) as a pc3 and flash or am I back on eBay again
Trust me after a flash alone the bike will be magic, the PC3/5 isnt really needed, it all depends how far you want to go

PJC I’m also 6’3” but on the larger side, got my rear spring from a treactor Messaged velox recently got a quick response was going to call him to discuss further when I’m not”butchering wood”!! Is your k5 fully sorted? Ive still got a load of goodies for one of them stashed somewhere.
