Hey
Hi all, new prospective owner from Jersey!
Having a few issues with a 4C8 I’m looking at which has pitted forks and will always cut out at throttle close. Like not idle? Any one that can advise would be awesome. Cheers

Re: Hey
Welcome in Matt
I'm sure you'll get some good tips here
Does it ahave a power commander or a remap ?
Pitted forks you're probably better off getting a straight second hand pair

Re: Hey
Hi Jompy, has a velox flash from r1mike, but it wasn’t idling at all, went back today and he’d put baffles in and was idling fine at 1000 rpm or near and pulling very well. No power commander but he wants way too high money for the forks needing replaced etc.. also have found a great one near Bournemouth but need to find someone to take a look at it for me and I’ll ping them a few £‘s

Re: Hey
Hi Matt and welcome to the forum. You will find the guys and girls on here great to get on with and if there is anyone your way im sure that they will help.
Do you have links to the adverts for the bikes you are looking for?
I can't help myself up in Midlands but good luck finding the right bike and remember to trust you gut feeling if it doesn't seem right it probably isn't.

Blast ! I replied and then deleted!
If it’s day for a while.
Check the teabag filter in the tank for biofuel sludge and double dose with this.
Use 98 oct, there’s less ethanol in it.

Re: Hey
If it’s genuinely got an FTECU flash it should pull from nothing if it’s not idling right walk away you’ll find one that is mint if the forks are knackered/pitted it’s probably been neglected your better off leaving it!KobLex wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 2:53 pm Hi Jompy, has a velox flash from r1mike, but it wasn’t idling at all, went back today and he’d put baffles in and was idling fine at 1000 rpm or near and pulling very well. Re: Hey
Hey and welcome ,, personally I’d walk away if the forks are pitted expensive replace straight away . And kinda suggests it’s not been cared for much , there are good 4c8s out there depending on your pocket depth , it took me six months of digging to find mine and wasn’t cheap but it’s probably one of the best in the uk at the min good looking mate.

Re: Hey
Welcome to the forum Matt, it does sound, as the guys suggest , like the bike you are looking at hasn’t led a pampered life. I would be thinking... what bills will this bike bring along with it... but that’s the accountant in me
The 4c8’s are amazing, take your time, there are good ones out there, it’s just impossible to get to see them in lockdown at the moment.
Good luck with your search
Welcome
