another newbie
morning all,
thought I`d say hello, new owner of an r1, its a 4xv model that I bought after selling my gixxer, got 1800 for the gixxer and bought the r1 for 1990 , done well I think, its pretty standard apart from, very cool trick ohlins on the rear, k tech internals on the front and a micron zorst.
it`s pretty clean as well which I`m pleased about, having a touch of ocd I don't like em dirty !! I've ordered a few bits for Christmas just to make it more mine, nothing to outrageous just a few subtle changes.
now fingers crossed the pics work
sold this............

Welcome, looks like a nice bike. Should handle very well with those suspension upgrades. 99 model?
What model Gixxer did you have?

Re: another newbie
thanks for the welcome..
moise, the gixxer was a k1, loved it but my mate has an r1 which I tried, and I decided if I could get one without spending to much, why not? and yes its a 99 model.
jompy, yes mate I`ll have a read through the sections, I`m a shift worker so I will probably post at weird and wonderful times , mainly with questions though
on a side note, I`m on nights this week, and have just woken up to a delivery of 3 stickers, so there's another 10bhp added already

Re: another newbie
Welcome to the firum Alan, it's amazing what those go faster stickers will do to a bikes handling
You have a beautiful looking R1 there and yiu have come to the right place to ask questions, just font take monkey face's aka jompys word fjr anything, he knows about the same as me and I know feck all .
What I do know is this forum is made up of some really good people who are here to help us who don't know as much or have less riding experiance, whether it's help on tide outs, at the track or giving technical support here, someone will always have an answer fjr you.
You will need a sense of humour, as there can be lots of good humoured banter and General p!ss taking, but it's all ok as its amongst friends.
So welcome to the mad house
Cilla
