Hello all, Newbeeeeee here! North West.
Hi All.
I am new to the forum.
I passed my test back end of last year, so am reasonably new to biking as well.
Had Triumph Daytona 650 as first bike.
just bought Black 2006 r1 couple of weeks ago.
Fully warranted bike from main dealer, one owner etc etc.
Plenty of mods all from previous enthusiast owner. Lits as follows:
Carbon front and rear mudguards, carbon tank, carbon yolk, carbon chain stay, taller screen. All genuine Yamaha
Gilies titanium rearsets, chain adjusters, wheel nuts, disk bolts, loads of titanium fasteners.
Rental 15t front and 47t rear sprocket, gold chain
tail tidy
carbon led indicators.
Pillion hump.
Since i have had it i have put h7 HID kit in the projectors and 100w 6300k bulbs in the high beam (a lot brighter at night)
7x4 Plate
Speedo Healer - the speedo was WAYYY out with the 15/47 sprockets. its set to -19.9!
thats about it for now. Will be adding stuff like a full titanuim system and maybe a PC if i need it with the exhaust. Would prefer 2nd hand if anyone has one going cheap!!
I live near Blackpool and ride to lancaster / caton / kirby lonsdale, hawes etc etc if anyone wants to say hello.
Currently dont really know any other bikers and i want to get out more. want to have my knee down by the summer!!
Anyone round my way drop me a PM as im always up for a ride out.
Thanks all.

Re: Hello all, Newbeeeeee here! North West.
Welcome to the forum simon, sounds like a beautiful bike you have there, cracking, as Wallace would say, that's the one with grommet not William first post. Monkey face willbe along in a bit to let you know how to post pics, however in the mean time yiu have to host them in say photobucket and then copy the link into your post.
Up until last year I used to work in Preston and I still live in warrington, so not too far away. The roads around kirby long scale and Hawes are fantastic
This is a great forum, peeps helpful, although we do have an acquired sense of humour and posts can go off tipoc very quickly indeed, anyway, join in the banter and you will soon fit in.
There are quite a few of us in the NW and the guys organise forum track days which are good just to turn up and meet peeps, you don't have to ride on track.
Oh and regards getting your knee down, it takes time, practice and very good throttle control and can only be done on private roads or the track, so be careful.
Anyway, the guys have tons of knowledge, always willing to help a fellow biker out and are generally good eggs.
So welcome to the mad house
Cilla

Welcome in mate, that sounds like a lovely bike, shame I cant see any pictures.
Take your time on the R1 they are not only bloody fast they require some skill to stop and slide thru the lanes, but I am sure you know that.
Enjoy the forum, its for everyone some of us have met and chat on the phone but get involved its an inclusive place for those who want it
