Ok not solved.
Have now removed the wire from the BWC and put new ends terminal on and bypassed the BWC with new connections.

After yesterday's 123 miles this is the amount of contamination cleaned out of the engine breather pipe. Pretty clean really.

The screws look to be engine side of the slide which would suggest they are adjusting petrol.
