Thanks - think I'm making progress - using a 4 way bungee strap and the tail pack expanded -

Liased with both, gave Yamaha UK the dealer to speak to who had fixed other bikes - still told no issue, issolated incident, bike 2 months out of warranty, get your cash out.

HI All,
Like many was on the old forum and had a 2009 cross plane crank with the 'red' frame and silver - fell out of love with it due to failed TPS sensors and Yamaha's response of 'no other bike in UK affected' even though I told them of 2 / 3 others and having to spend almost £300 to replace ...
