Does anyone know the best place to get hold of engine refurb kits? My 2000 r6 has a goosed engine that I want to refurb over the winter.
Cheers

Re: Newbie bike issues
Thanks one and all, I’ll get it stripped and see what I find, hopefully nothing too serious.

Re: Newbie bike issues
Hi Moise.
That’s half the problem, I don’t know if it was ok after he changed it, I’m not sure if he ran it or not. He’s a mate so he knows about the problem but didn’t go into too much detail, I’ll ask him again.

Re: Newbie bike issues
Sorry I forgot to mention, the engine seems to run fine although it will run for a while then cut out, but it will start up again without a problem. Like I said the knocking only starts above about 1000 rpm, below that it’s fine.

Re: Newbie bike issues
Thanks for that. I was looking at it earlier and the tensioner seems to be working fine. I think I will take you advice and have a look at the valves.

Newbie bike issues
Hi all
Thanks for allowing me on here.
I’ve got a 2000 R6 which was an old Cat D write off. I’m trying to get it back on the road but it’s got a knocking from the top of the engine. I’ve spoke to the guy I bought it off and apart from a slight ticking the engine was fine. I’ve not fiddled with the ...
