the front must have lifted a fair bit then lol
It was downhill and not too many revs when I opened the throttle. I have lifted the front powering out of uphill corners in 2nd though. Mind you, the ZZR1200 can do that too, and it weighs about 100 kg more! Does make a mess of the rear tyre though if you do it too often.

Gave it full throttle in 2nd coming out of a slow corner onto a straight, say 30 mph. Didn't lift the front but got to 90 mph (9,000 rpm) very quickly. My phone battery was flat so didn't have the GPS tracking app running, but it felt like it only took a couple of seconds.

I've never ridden anything with midrange like the 4xv. I'm getting used to it though, had time to look at the clocks this time!

Sorry for the thread hijack Graham, have you been for a ride on your R1 yet?

The books says when they were new the 4xv would do 0-140 mph in quarter of a mile

:o bloody hell buddy ! what you waiting for ? when i hit 8500-9000rpm it feels like my eyes are marbles & someones put them in a small match box & is shaking them all around ! try looking a the speedo ha ha ha if you can :P
That's cos you got no fairings monkey face

Welcome in Graham, 50 is no where near too old to be riding an R1 so well done mate
Old monkey face is Amosa right in that our average age is Colin's aks colon or Locke, not Lockie at 41 but their ain't much difference. 40's are the new early 20's, and 50's is the new mid 20's, which means we have a load of members still well, let's say they ain't grown up yet :P

Loads of banter and helpful tits on here so welcome :P
Mine won't go passed 9000RPM...Bugger !!,I have something to look forward too when its sorted
