5pw motor
Hi folks.. I'm new to this site .. Thanks for the add
I have a 5pw motor and I have ran the cluch in to the sump and wondering
If this could damage the crank or box .. I have replaced the clutch but now
Have a noise coming from the cluch area .. I have checked the out put to the cluch with a clock dial
And seems fine but I'd like to know the best way of checking the crank
Cheers mick ..

hey mick , not understanding fully what your saying but i gather you've had clutch problems , you've replaced the clutch & now it's noisey/rattling !mrfixit r1 wrote:Hi folks.. I'm new to this site .. Thanks for the add

does the noise go away when you pull the clutch in ? if yes then this is normal
if you click on the link below and look at the Primary Driven Gear Comp part number 1 you can see the springs running around the back of it , some people say its these or the bearing part 14 , either way don't worry about it .

Thank for the reply ... The noise is a Constant noise with cluch engaged or not ... I can see on the crank gear a mark where the plate has ran in to the gear ? It's like a banging coming from the basket side of the engine ... I have a bit of play in the basket but I'm not convinced this is the noise

you know on the clutch plates them selves they have a tab ! where the tab slots into the basket is yours worn like this ?mrfixit r1 wrote:Thank for the reply ... you can see on the left side all the ridges where the clutch plates rub which are not good & on the right side where the clutch plates don't rub its smooth , both sides should be smooth , it could be that but i still think it's the springs but usually the noise goes when you pull the clutch in , maybe its very loose !
hopefully one of the guy's will be along that knows a little more

that pic is bad , best bet would be to film it upload to youtube & then post on here but it's always hard to diagnose from video

Re: 5pw motor
It sounds like a full rebuild should be completed especially as you are sticking it in a Mini, i'd would do that even if she had no issues and blueprint it

ouch !mrfixit r1 wrote:The engine is on my dinner table lol .. I think the crank is bent to b honest
I hope it's only slightly bent , I had a bit of ally jam the oil pump on my old 4xv motor so it was starved of oil , which over heated fucked the main bearings and bent the crank that much that it warped the crank cases and the head !

I think if you crank was bent you'd get a lot more than a bit of a rattle ! Mine sounded like a bag of spanners , worse than a Ducati !mrfixit r1 wrote:I hope it's not bent at all lol ..
