Sorry bud but I get a little over excited at the thought of mk 1&2 escorts ohh and capris !
Love my early R1's too although mines an acquired taste lol
there's a lot of helpful info on the 4xv but then with your experience you may not need it ;)

My first ever car was a mk1 escort 1300GT with a 1.6GT lump...ah...memories.

My first car was a mk2 escort estate in a state , 1100 base model with drum brakes alround with a 1300 engine still with the 1100 box , I found :shhh: some front struts with disk brakes & fitted those

Used to stick the Capri diff in for more top end...if it had the power to get there in the first place of course :lol:
