Newby saying hi

Post by Woodsy-1 »

Hi peeps-new to the forum, and already on the scrounge for bits!
I've got a 99 4XV , which I got back in March 2012 with just over 1000 miles on it! I've taken that up to 3800 now... And then promptly binned her at the Practical Sportsbikes Cadwell track day last month :o :( . Very fortunate as it was a low side, and hasn't marked either the frame, swing arm or tank! I've got most bits brand new from Yamaha (hope the missus never finds that receipt!) but for one bit...
So if anybody has a right hand bellypan in Bluish White Cocktail they'd like to find a new home for then please drop me a message. Cheers!

Welcome in mate. Seriously low mileage bike. Any pics before your wee off?

Welcome, there's a growing number of 4xv riders here. But can I respectfully suggest that you use something else for the track? Sounds like you've been lucky this time; also it's going to become harder to find new 4xv parts over the next few years.

Welcome in woodsy
Would it be worth getting a set of Chinese fairings ? Some of the guys on here have had excellent results with them for £350 - no more than £400 , there's some good write ups in the projects & reviews sections ;)

Welcome to the forum woodsy, nice opening post, only lacking in a picture of your pride and joy, that's the bike not your wife

Sorry about your off and as Duncan says your bike is too special to be taken on track, but hay, we can fall off on the road as well, well I can

Have you thought about having the bottom fairing sprayed, dream machine do a beautiful job and it's worth it if you can't find a new one or a decent used one.
