I've not had a problem taking the headers off but then again I have no fairings :lol:

That's the same thing I came across.
I'll be taking it off in a bit so I'll know then.

Yes it was a magnet in the end.
You may also notice some subtle fettling on the filter which was just enough to avoid exhaust removal.

Good that you didn't have to take the headers off. What an absolutely pointless thing to fit.

Well I did find just few tiny shavings in the magnet. I didn't notice at first, but then I put me glasses on.
I'm sure that is something the filter would have caught anyway.
I don't know how long it was on there.
My brother had owned it since 2006, but he died in May so as one might expect, I can't ask him.....
