Hi new R1 2015 owner

Post by Montana »

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum... I decided to get an R1 after owning 3 R6s I was beginning to get bored. My bike was purchased with 2000 miles on, last service at 1550miles, I think now I'm coming up to 3000 miles it's due a service. Can anyone tell me how much a r1 service is usually, and what's involved in this service.

Thanks guys

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new R1, they are an awesome bike like your R6 but with a litre engine, fantastic [emoji3]. The first service is due at 600 miles then at intervals of 6000 miles or one year. The 6k service is an intermediate one with the big service at 12k or two years. Not too sure if the price as mine has only done 1,800 miles and it's service isn't due till April , my old R1's the intermediate service was around £120, with the first service (600) miles being around £80. The new R1 600 mile service was £120 so I guess that the 6000 service will be a tad more than £120. Give your local dealer a bell, they can tell you,

Welcome to a great biking community, any questions just ask

Oh and as Dave says post some pics, btw Dave, Pete, George, Daphne, cock or Steve are all the same person, I'm not the same Steve as petepassion

Thanks for the help guys, I have another question I have the kreiga bag system I'm trying to mount a bag on the back seat to keep my disc lock in. Just can't find anyway to secure the straps any ideas?. Was thinking I may have to wrap them round the rear foot pegs. Or does anyone have a lock which fits under the seat. Hate having to take a backpack with me every time I need to lock it up.

hi and welcome to the forum :)

serving is every 6000 miles, but there is an annual check to carry out too if 6000 miles not reached

here is the service schedule
