Hi all,
Hi, it’s SteveR1 here, I have had to re-register as I had forgot my password to SteveR1 and when I tried to reset it, I couldn’t get in. Hopefully Admin can help me get the old account back
I Got the email today, it’s good to hear from you, I was only thinking of the forum the other day. I hope you are all well it will be nice to get the forum back to how it was, so I’m definitely up for that.
So me, I still have Vicky the R1M, who is actually Dame Vicky the R1M, it’s a long story, and I’m riding as much as I can given my circumstances . I’ve given up on Jaguar after 15 years, that’s another long story. We now have 5 grandchildren, our latest granddaughter was born last Saturday.
I need to work out how to add an image…
If it works, its idiot proof as I managed to do it
Erm, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in January, I’m almost 8 months into treatment with another 17 months to go. I’m fine and I’m positive I’ll beat this, and if I don’t, I’ll go down fighting.
Guys, if you are over 50, ask your doctor first a PSA blood test, it’s worth checking, my cancer was found by accident, don’t wait for the symptoms, it’s too late then…
Anyway good to be in here again, hopefully I can get the old account back
Look forward to chatting with you all
Best wishes
Stephen

Hey Steve, good to hear from you, and glad to hear from you. Your old account was Steve R1 with a space in it, try resetting that, if you are still having issues then PM from your new account and I can set the password for you and help get you logged back into your old account.
Best regards
Mike

Great to hear from you, there's a few of us still riding the R1. I may be tempted by the new R9, but not sure whether I could live with a triple. It is light though, which is pretty unusual for a new model these days.SteveR1M wrote: Wed Dec 04, 2024 3:38 pm Hi all,

My cousin had a similar experience with prostate cancer to you. He was in his early 60s and made a full recovery.
There's a few of us who still drop in here from time to time. Hopefully Mike's email may prompt others to check in.

Good luck with the recovery and hope you enjoy the next bike season. Yeah some of us still ride R1s. I didnt get around to fixing up my 99R1 but have bought a 60th Anniversary for a change lol. Surprising how much bigger and heavier it is compared to the 4xv. All those cats and rider aids for the extra horses....

Steve I have been put on FINASTERIDE to shrink [?] my prostate as I was told it's the size of a tennis ball . Actually looked like it on an MRI scan . My PSA dropped from 10.4 to 5.6 after starting Finasteride . Hope this helps , good luck with yours .

Hi guys, thanks for all the kind words
Moise, it’s good to be back, let’s hope the forum gets more traffic on here, like the good old days it’s good to know your cousin had a full recovery from Prostate Cancer, if found early it is treatable
R1rider… the R1’s were definitely getting bigger , 5vy, 4c8, 14b and 14be, but my R1M is actually smaller and lighter than these, thankfully, though I can’t compare it to your 4xv.
R15UTT so sorry to hear of your enlarges prostate, the it’s good your PSA has reduced by half. I’m in 6 monthly hormone therapy injections , these plus the radiotherapy have reduced my PSA from 48 to 0.2. I pray your prostate continues to shrink and your PSA stays low
