Another newb

Post by Safjar »

Hi all,
My name is Marc and I'm from Grimsby, just joined as I'm planning on getting an R1 when I get back from working away in July, test rode a 2004 5VY on Tuesday and thoroughly enjoyed it :-) the weather wasn't great but managed to give it the beans, it was almost completely standard, definitely needs a set of decent cans on it, I'm thinking a nice set of Akra's :-)

Anyway, only had my license for a couple of years and had a Triumph Street Triple R for 18 months, already sold it but it was a truly awesome to ride, the only thing it lacked was top end speed, I had an Arrow 3-1 full system fitted to it which just sounded unbelievable, if any of you haven't ridden this bike then I highly recommend a test ride....... but the sportsbike itch has to be seen to :-) ridden my mates 2012 ZX10R and that was just phenomenal, unbelievably fast! Love the styling of the R1 and they are fast as f**k! The reason I want a thou is because the street triple was just a naked Daytona 675 so essentially done the whole midrange power and now it's time to join the big boys league :-)

I'll try and pop some pictures up of my triple later when I get a chance.

Cheers

Hi and welcome, what sort of budget are you looking at?you are best of buying a bike with Akras already fitted as they are very expensive for the full systems..
Akras & a QS what a soundtrack..

Budget will be around 4-4.5k, seen plenty around for that price with and without aftermarket exhausts, massive bonus if i find one suitable at the time with Akra's

Hi Marc, welcome to the forum, excellent choice of R1 I did over 65,000 miles on my 5vy and it never missed a beat.... Build quality is first class and as long as they have been looked after they will go on forever. As hash says, this is a great forum, no clicks.. Peeps always ready to help and give advice. Loads of good humoured banter too.

Good luck in finding a nice 5vy.. And enjoy bit when you get one ... Welcome :D
