evening all, noob to the r1
evening all, noob to the r1
Evening all,
Been riding bikes since I were a nipper, got a few years under my belt. Got a few old bikes and recently got an r1 as I always wanted one since the day they were released and it was too good an offer to miss.
Looking forward to this one, so far it's been a little problematic but currently running great.
It's a 5JJ, standard, hasn't done much but had been stood for a very long time. Carbs were full of crap (modern fuel is very poor it would seem) and I've had to clean them out twice but as said, it's currently running sweet and I'm loving it.
Cheers

Well, I cleaned out the carbs again and they were full of crap. Best I can describe is it was almost like limescale and there was a lot of green crap - modern fuel is not good.
It's running sweet now though and I'm loving it! I'm a big fan of old classic bikes and this is the most modern bike I have. 3 kids means I can't afford a new one but hey this is great!
I'll get a photo asap...

Why pay £10k for a new one when you can get a classic 4xv as cheap as £2000 ? Try pro fst fuel treatment it may help , I use it , there's a review in the review sectionzedsdead wrote:Hah! defo not a quality polis!Coddy wrote:Always sh!t myself at the words "Evening All". I'm from Glasgow area Scrapman. Not a polis though. I work on wind turbines.
Here's a photo of the bike, not great but best I have to hand. Thinking about changing the screen to something just a little taller for my comfort...

I try to get out as much as possible but family and work keep me pretty busy. If anyone is jheading out give me a shout. The Stockie is a bit of a favourite as is the Duke's Pass.
The Erskine hospital run is on tomorrow and I'm thinking about going to that, never been before.
