As for the forks , I don't think you'll notice much difference but you'd have to assume logically that the later forks would be better but we all know this isn't even true
The 4xv-R forks came off my mid year registered 98 & the 4xv-R2 forks came from off a late registered 5jj 02 but as we all know on a 17 or 13 year old bike these parts may not have been the originals
