Someone, somewhere is very proud of that sub-frame and I think we should afford that man the respect that he deserves...despite the fact that it is a pile of sh!te....weeksy wrote:You lot only like it because you've not seen the sub-frame yet

Re: New person from Wiltshire
BAsically as you'll know, on the 4XV the subframe is direct mount to the frame, not bolt on.
So 'someone' has obviously lobbed the bike in the floor, bent the subframe and then cut the standard subframe off !!! They've then tidied it up a bit, but THEN they've cut the top bits of the frame that stick up, changed the anges and re-welded. Now, it's not by all means terrible welding etc... but scares me a little.
They've then built a subrframe out of Lego, Sticklebricks and Meccano. How have they mounted it ? Well, the cross member of the frame (above the shock and towards the engine) has then been drilled and tapped and the new subframe bolted in.
They've then fitted... i used the term 'fitted' in a very loose context.. an R6 seat unit... but with a base and seat pad that's 'home made' and lumpier than cold porridge.
It doesn't terrify me... but you can bet your life i won't be going out at the same time as Trev at Silverstone... i'll feign dropping a glove just to give him a 30s lead in case it all explodes and he's riding along trying to stand up on the pegs as we're all avoiding the debris of the seat unit
