I politely request you take your mountains of over exaggerated experience, opinion's & negativity somewhere else.
They are not wanted nor appreciated here.
I joined as an enthusiast hoping this forum was different from the countless others full of big time warriors.
I'm sure you are public friend number one if "everybody" knows you speak your mind. Congratulations. Another masterful achievement.
So in short.... Thanks but no thanks.
Like I said good luck there is no telling you anything is there. I think you will find everyone is wanted here. As for my over exaggerated experience, yep I lied.

Jompy you started so well & I had a lot of time for your first comment. Now I've boxed you in with PJc.
There is no need to be rude or personal. I don't know him & he doesn't know me.
I would still prefer him to stay away from my future posts.
I learned on a 125 then moved onto a 600. I have been driving for many years & owned a mophead when I was 16.
I appreciate people's concern but personal comments & rudeness is not needed is it?
Nice to know that not everyone is rude.
PJC - I'm more than happy to listen. I'm sure you could have taught me a lot. But Id rather not have you continue posting on my posts. Negativity breeds. Thanks all the same & safe riding.

It is the first bike I've owned.
I was taught on a 125 & moved up to months on a 600.
So I've moved from 125 to a 600 then to an R1
I don't really count the mophead.

you said this was your first bike for starters buddy which means either you were looking for a reaction or your very forgetfull ( read as economical with the truth ! ) & i can forgive & forget if you like , just remember YOUR the guest here !

In my defence I didn't realise that everybody would assume I learned on an R1.
I mean I'm crazy but not that mental!
I'm happy to be guest but won't stand rudeness my friend.
R1 is the first bike that I've owned. The 125 & 600 were my instructors bikes.
Hope that clears everything up.
Anybody else been for a ride today?

Haha yeah Pete you best stay away

 I don't think anyone was being particularly personal, but please note for future reference this is not a forum for the easily offended! And good luck trying to stop people from posting that's just going to antagonise
You were taught on a six? Like lessons before your test? Anything since?
Like previously said if you've not bought this to hone your skills and it's just for posing purposes then thars cool you're certainly not alone on here! Cough cough Mr fish just takes pics of his then sell um

I will post where I like thank you very much and as for being rude, you are the one who has called me a liar. You asked for opinions you got it don't like it.
A moped does count, it very much counts, you get bike related road sense and the early scares on a small ill handling machine.

I had one lesson on a 125 & then moved to a 600.
Everything was then done on a 600.
Bought the R1 before I passed & have been riding it ever since.
In regards to the mophead being experience then I stand corrected. Thinking about it, it has taught me valuable little lessons.
For example, never trust a bus.

2000 R1 has around 130 rwbhp
a 2005 zx636 with air filter, exhaust and pc III will be around 120 rwbhp
not a huge amount in it really ... (ok the 1000cc will have plenty more torque)
there is a saying, if you want to learn to ride a litre bike, you need to ride a litre bike
get a trackday booked

Cheers Gucci!
It took me ages to get it right.
I spent this afternoon redyeing the leather seats!
Any ideas on lockable covers? Anybody use them?
I've moved the bike from the garden to the road now so would prefer to keep it away from the elements.
Cheltenham gets rain 345 days a year!

I use the Oxford stormex cover it's a heavy weight with quilted lining, clips underneath and has chain holes front and back

Hi Ashley, welcome to the forum and congratulations to you and your wife on the pending birth of your child. Children really is what life is about.... The guys on he have heard this from me on many occasions, bikes are awesome but children..... That's what life is all about.
At 25 you are a tad young fir a mid life crisis... Maybe in another 20 years or so
This is a good forum, we look about fur one and other and do care about each other. PJC and Jompy are stars and I hope you will stick around to see how decent these chaps are. You are a special person, not only because we are all unique, but because you got Luke to be diplomatic...... That is a real first and I don't know how that happened.
A lot has been said about your bike and I'm not going to add to what has been said. People's view are because we as a community care about fellow riders, that's one of the good things about biking, we are here to help one and other. I guess from your earlier posts that your day job is something to do with sports? If your job demands self control, then use that on your bike as you said you will...... Take it easy and build up your skills, Don't be afraid to ask questions, we are here to help.
You are not the First person to buy an r1 as a first bike and you will not be the last.

That is sad. Not because you won't but because you can't. It's just a pain in the ass having to get it through the gate everyday plus I think I may be annoying the neighbours

Only slightly! Haha! Unintentional of course!
Thank you SteveR1. Let's say 1/4 life crisis? I'm a Sports Tutor/Teacher. I didn't realise Luke being diplomatic was a momentous occasion. Thank you Luke!
Anyone riding today? Out of onterest does anyone have a true MPG figure? I know it's dependent on riding/revs/terrain & other things. So anyone that uses it daily to & from work & sometimes on the weekend?
