Hiya Allan;
Great intro! I also have an 03 5pw (which I've owned since new) with a very similar pipe. In fact, I haven't seen anybody else with one, until today. I've had it fitted for about seven years and haven't re-packed the baffle as yet. It is loud, that goes without saying. I might have missed reading it but do you have a power commander fitted?

Hi rossi's idol,
Yeah i got mine about 5 years ago, it was 2nd hand when i got it and had nothing in the baffle, i did pack it once but it didnt last as i have it off every year come mot time. Yeah i do have a power commander fitted too, with a guestimate map chosen, i really need to get a custom map, once i get some velocity stacks i will get it done.

Gledy,

I'm from Dundee and have a 5PW too, don't think I have seen another silver & black one. Nice bike and spec!

Hi keith thanks for that. Yeah I've not seen many other 5pws out anywhere local really.
Just looking at your knee down signature picture, was that taken on the glenshee road, just after the the blackwater inn?

Haha yeah mate, love that road. Just over 4 weeks ago I actually came off my bike near the fire station, was a lucky boy.

Pm me your number & once I'm fixed, hopefully in a few weeks we could head out.

Saw the 5PW mentioned and had to take a look, best R1 by far :eusa-whistle: Great intro by the way.
Your right to stay off forums though, joined one for my car and it cost me a fortune then stumbled into here and my wallet burst open in a flurry of really necessary mods and a few more to add in the next few weeks.

Cheers T1DKY, yeah forums are a money pit for me, all the preventative maintenance that I didnt do before that i now think is essential after reading about horror stories, and benefits of doing this job and that job. I have 4 cars, a van and my r1 and a now have a list of jobs that is endless. I like to do most things myself, so that doesnt really help. Thankfully my r1 has the shortest list of all, but not trying to read too many build threads here to get "ideas!". And reading stuff on forums lengthens the list and wastes "job" time! Ha ha. Was fitting coilovers last night, with a couple of beers, and saturdays job is to drop a diff and swap it out, the r1s braided lines and brake fluid flush will have to wait!

Hi moise, yeah landscapes there can be pretty similar to scotland, had a kiwi ex. Not as many sheep though, unless you are in aberdeen or wales!

Ah Sorry to hear that.

Also a belated hello from another in Dundee. Been a bit busy with work and most spare time spent out on the bike. Soon be time to put it away for this year though and as has been said that will allow you time to rebuild.

Maybe catch you out next year, I am on an anniversary model.

Hope rebuild goes well .

Hi old badger, thanks for that. Mine has been cleaned and scottoiled and put away for a bit, busy with other things so will get the rebuild going at the start of next year, yeah keen to get a ride out, would be nice to see your anniversary model.

Cheers, allan

Mine all away for this year too.

So so sad :(

Happy to meet up next year, although getting my defence in first I am old (not as fast as others) and don't always have the flexibility of planning runs far in advance.

Mainly shifts for the missus and looking after our precious dog.
