Hi everyone. Was on here a few tears ago but went all Aprilia for a while. Still got my beloved 4VX which is finally getting back on the road.
Couldn't bear to get rid of her so she's sat in my hallway being a piece of art for 4 years.
Also had a 4C8 and an 5JJ ex-racer for track use.
Had a few issues with being stored for so long but now the clutch has new plates, calipers rebuilt, carbs cleaned, fork seals replaced, new tyres and a damn good polish.
Insured now. MOT this week.
Getting excited now
Three bits of wisdom from a 12 year relationship.
1: If yours jumps out of second gear, get the gearbox rebuilt. Cos if it goes bang you will triple the repair bill. As I found out.
2: Get Ohlins internals in the forks. Astounding improvement from the saggy originals. Will transform how you ride the bike.
3: Do a trackday. You may well enjoy it but the R1 deserves it.
