Hi All,
I have just purchased a 2003 R1 5PW as a track bike (its a little rough) but has no clocks or the sub wiring harness to the clocks.
Does any one know if you can fit other model wiring & clocks, or does anyone have some 5pw clocks/wiring for sale?
Many Thanks

Hi Mate,
the sub looms are different on 5pw models 2002 sub loom is different to 2003 sub loom as the later ones have hazard lights, different wiring for the ignition switch and the head lights are on permanently, but as yours is a track bike that shouldn't matter, i have a sub loom for the 2002 5pw in the garage and lots of body work (road) i will try and dig it out at the weekend and i will let you know

Welcome in Colin
So you going to give us a bit more about your biking history or are you just shooting through ? Theirs a fair bit of info in the 5pw section that should help you & any questions just fire away & i'll try to find someone that actually knows what the hell they're talking about

Hi Jompy,
Well I've had bikes since I was 16 so 14 years. Had a few yamaha's but this is my first big one.
Started with a Derbi GPR 50, then a Yamaha tzr125, then a tzr250. Then a 86 gsxr 750, TL1000R which was nice with a full yoshimura exhaust & ohlins shock. Then started getting into doing track days rather than riding on the road. Got a company car so didn't want to risk my licence to much. Then I had a 04 gsxr 750, then an 01 gsxr 1000.
I currently have an honda sp1 I am in the process of rebuilding & came upon this R1 last week. It is painted in fortuna spiderman colours which looks quite cool. However the lad I bought it from had bought it as a none runner, replaced the wiring loom then fell off it on his first go so wanted to get rid. Only minor damage to the panels but as I only want to track it I wasn't to bothered.
I was missing the header tank so got another one & missing the clocks. I don't really want to use it without clocks just to be on the safe side with not being able to see temperatures etc.
The 5pw clocks seem hard to come by or very expensive from America, don't want to spend to much on it as just want to use it as a cheap track bike.
Thanks for your welcome, it also seems to seep a very small amount of fuel from the breather tank on the pipe has any one had this before?
Thanks
Col
