Hello all

Hello to all Yamaha fans :)
A little bit about me and the R1. I have been riding since I was 16, loved the road and track but these days I prefer to tinker and restore bikes in the garage, when I find time. I have been lucky enough to own every model of R1 up to 2013, which was the best! Probably the Traction control R1, with 200bhp the power delivery was simply stunning, like no other bike I have ridden. Having said that the 2006 SP is an excellent bit of kit, but stepping back in time it's like riding a 600!! I will go in to that another time, did you know more than a 1000 were produced Worldwide? To finish off the top 3 for me, the original 1998 R1 in White and red that was only made in this year.
All the R series bikes have something about them, from the R125 to the new R3, even though the new R1 is probably the most high tech bike on the market it doesn't rock my boat......I.M.O :D only because they changed the front end, the haul mark of an R1.
If I can be of any help to anyone drop me a message and thanks for reading.

Take it easy and chat soon

Hi and welcome to the forum.
When you say 200bhp, are you talking about the latest R1?

Hi Jompy, I just haven't had or found the time, now I feel I need to make time as I have a 4XV in the garage that needs sorting out, probably finish that next year :D I love the 4XV but have a passion for the SP
My WGP was running 200hp, shall I say ish as it depends how you work it out but it produced 178@wheel ;) loved that bike but sold it, bought a boat

Well the rule is you have to post a pic , in your case it will have to at least be every R1 you've owned ;)
get yourself a free photobucket account & follow the idiots guide to posting pics from your pc
posting.php?mode=reply&f=6&t=10659
or you can post direct from your not so smart phone using tapawank (tapatalk) it's great for posting pic's & notifications but wank for viewing the forum ;)
