Old but new member!

Hey all, I've been a member on here since December 2011 but just haven't got around to posting, but discovered the site again after searching for the R1M on the web!

I've always been a Yamaha man, and my most recent bikes have been a 2001 R1 5JJ the last of the carb versions which I had for around 3 years and my current R1 which is a 2007 4C8 that I've owned since nearly new when it had less than 3k miles on it. I test rode a big bang R1 for a day but it did nothing for me to be honest compared to my 4C8, so I've stuck with the 4C8 ever since. I ride it all year round hence the heated grips, and have never got bored with it yet.......... Hopefully that won't change as I'm keeping the 4C8 as I've managed to get accepted for an R1M that I've paid a deposit on already and can't wait to get it, woohoo!! I'll post up about it in the R1M section.

I love customising my bikes and doing all the work to try and make them stand out from the crowd, and have spent a few quid on both my previous and present R1 versions. Photos below, and a specs list of my 4C8 to bore you with! :geek:

I also have a Mars Bar coloured Yamaha 1980 250 RDLC, and a rare imported for one year only black 1977 Yamaha DT400 Enduro. I have nearly all the parts for both, and hopefully will get stuck into those during the winter time permitting!

Thanks jompy and samr1! :D

Here's how the DT400 currently looks and how it should look in the right colours when restored! My DT400 is mostly there and matching numbers, it runs ok and in good nick considering. There are a few parts that are wrong such as the back light. Some nob sprayed it all over in black or red but that's not an issue as it needs chrome and paint anyway. It might of even helped preserve it!

Love the look of the hybrid Donny, both bikes look mint, and I do think the Mars Bar colours are the best!

Here's my RD250LC as I bought it, painted white but is black on the V5, so I'm happy about that. Again matching numbers and mostly all there, it's got the clock guard handlebars on it which you don't see that often. I have most NOS and mint parts for it now.

The blue 2015 R1 looks lush, I probably would have bought one if they did them in Raven here as they do abroad, but then I wouldn't have the R1M!

Hi and welcome to the forum Pal, nice collection of bikes you got there. I was also a 4C8 owner up until a few weeks ago, owned it for four years, fancied a change though so I sold that and bought a S1000rr

Thanks Bub, the S1000rr is a nice bike and one that I was considering as I wanted a new bike, it just so happens I managed to get an R1M so decision made! :)
