Morning Campers

I'm new to these parts, just thought I'd drop by to say Hello
been on bikes for 30 odd years, recently brought a Street fightered '99 and loving it.
I also own a fightered '97 TL1000s and a GPZ750 (XZ750A2) that's in boxes in the garage.

Home is Bristol, but I live near Chepstow, just over that there Severn Bridge....

Those 4xv's are a lovely bike , they share a lot of parts with the 5jj like frame, wheels & engines are similar , things that are different are ECU , bodywork i.e. tank , fairing , seat unit & headlight also the radiator & wiring looms are different .
Make sure you look in the 4xv & 5jj sections .
Check the main 20pin white plug on the wiring loom that sits behind the left hand fairing to make sure its in good order & been greased as these can cause problems , the HT leads can break up when old where the plug cap screws on & cause misfire all you need to do is cut 5-10 mm off the end & screw the cap back on , also DON'T tighten the sump bolt up to 42nm its a lot less more like 15-20nm .
get the service manuals and parts micro fiches for both the 4xv & 5jj downloaded , use the online PDF link & down load the parts manuals from there .

had the old girl serviced today and came back with a clean bill of health

i have a Leo Vince can laying on the garage floor , don't think its the same bore as yours . it'd seen better days so Jen bought me a new one , cracking sound to it
i'm loving the fact that the standard R1 rear has been used , it's a bit bright for my tastes but looks good , never been a fan of the TL's i think it's the rear end & 3 spoke wheel on the single sided swing arm but i'm loving what you've done with it

First couple are of when i first got it , found out someone had polished the forks because they were fucked ( no i didn't paint the writing on the tyres )

i knew the front disks were cheap & warped ( braking from a fast speed was interesting ) the rear disk was given an advisory at an mot so i bought these

Welcome in Planty, nice set of bikes you have there, I do like the TL, cant imagine its easy to keep that front end down.
