Hi To all Members
My name is Ray Davies I am new to the Yamaha forum.
I am the owner of a 2015 YZF R1 and a Ducati scrambler.I am living in Chester at the moment.
I have received the notification for the gearbox problem and would like to engage in conversation with other owners regarding our rights as consumers.
I have read that someone has written to Yamaha to insist on a replacement bike.I have asked if he has received a reply and i will update you if i have any more info about it.
I have been biking for 45 years plus.
Please inbox me if you want too chat
Many Thanks
Ray Davies
It would appear that the replies have disapeared to my intro so i would like to say that i am sorry to all those who replied to my intro and also the post that i put on the board which has also been discarded by mistake

Hi Ray and welcome to the. Forum, I'm not too far away from you, Warrington. As peeps have said there has been a lot if talk about the gearbox issues so you have come to the right place. It's easy for me to comment on this because I don't have a 2015 R1 and say that I believe Yamaha are doing their very best and that I trust Yamaha because of the previous experience s I have had with them over the years.
I fully understand why new owners are frustrated and some annoyed. Peeps with the 2015 R1's seem to be falling into two camps, those who want the bike replaced or their money back and those who are prepared to let Yamaha repair the bike. As I say, it's easy for me to say I would fall into the latter category as I don't have a 2015 bike, but I'm guessing the 2016 bike I have on order will have been repaired by Yamaha before it leaves the factory. At the end of the day, everyone affected by this will have their own view and I fully respect that. I hope that you get this sorted to your satisfaction.
Oh and now you have joined, join in with the banter, have a laugh and ask any questions you want, someone on here will have been there, done that and got the t shirt to boot.
Welcome
Stephen

Welcome in Ray
I like Steve R1 agree that although it's unfortunate to have the gearbox problem Yamaha are doing they're best and if you have a good dealer you'll have nothing to worry about , I also know this is easy for me to say as I don't own a 2015 R1 !
Are you by any chance on the ducati forum ?
