New to forum having previously owned Gixxer 750 K8. I'll try and add a pic but just trying to understand forum system.

Evening bonny lad, nice looking sausage you have there. Enjoy the bike and the forum mate. ;)

What other bikes have you owned apart from the Gixxer

Welcome to the forum Clive, now let me explain PJCs post "nice looking sausage you have there" you see it's our rather strange sense of humour, Yamaha made the Big Bang engine which is also known as the banger, well banger is another name for sausage , hence some people on here call the bangers sausages , hence Petes "nice looking sausage" comment...... We would not want to scare another new member away

Anyway cracking looking bike , join in the banter, have a laugh and ask any questions you want, someone will have an answer

Welcome

Stephen :D

Thanks all for the welcome. I'm from Chertsey and have a mate whose also got white 62 'banger' lol, we both made the transition from gixxers. Personally I find the R1 easier ride than gixxer, turns in sweeter and the grunts phenomenal, feels an sounds like a V8. I've also got a Dorsoduro factory 750 which I commute on always loved supermoto. I've also previously owned a Ninja 600, Honda CRF250 plus other small stuff.

We have a small group so If anyone's local and up for a ride we'll organise a meet when the weathers better.

I've had the bike about 2 months so not got many pics yet. Was looking for race blue with brushed Akra's and I've fitted ASV levers 915

Hi Jompy,

It was the L dual sport, servicing intervals at 8000 miles. Had planned to some green laning but never got round to it, ended up commuting on it. Squirrelled at 60 and was underpowered tbh. Think the Yam WR250R is a better option.

Sounds like it could be a good greenlaner for the wife , as you know you don't need much power on the lanes h she has a road bike already , wanted to know what you thought of it off road but I guess that's not to be . I was hoping she'd go for a CRM 250 as I already have one of those but she says it's a bit big & has no leccy start
