Now then ...

Evenng folks I thought it was time to say hello after lurking about - got to say it's a cracking forum with loads of useful info and advice :)

Iain from Durham have had loads of bikes over the years mainly litre sports bikes old and new and have been pretty active over quite a few forums from time to time :D

I've not long sold a K3 Gixer thou and quite fancied a 14b as they're not your usual inline 4 experience - and it provides a canny contrast to my GS whch incidentally is an absolute hoot but no sports bike.

So a couple of weeks ago I sourced myself a blue 09 with 12k on the clocks pretty tidy, cat knocked out, K & N filter and Leo Vince slip on cans.

A new set of tyres, a full service, a new plate to replace the melted one, passengers pegs ditched a good spruce up and surprise surprise it had starting issues so followed the advice on here and slotted in a Motobatt so far so good :D

Just sorting a new relay as the LED indicators flash themselves to bits and plan on getting the ECU flashed it's bound to be running lean and I'm resisting the temptation to buy too many bits just yet!!

The bike is tremendous, sounds awesome, is so tractable and reassuring and is just so charismatic! I've had two S1000s that are seen as top of their game (That's why I've had two I suppose) but it's made me realise how sterile vibey and characterless the whole experience was - although undoubtedly they are a very capable machine.

So from me hi, onwards and upwards 8-)

I won't be joining you on the track just yet, after this little off some eight years ago my missus said no more track as she collected me from hospital, to be fair she tolerates my bikes without complaint

Until now that was the only other Yamaha that I've owned ... if I'd replaced the rear shock earlier that wouldn't have happened

No argument here, it was a good first post but it's not quite Carling .
