Hello from sunny cleethorpes

Post by Aaron dean »

Hi guys, just sold my 2013 zx10 and purchased a 2012 TC Big Bang r1, I collect her on Friday and already can't wait! She's completely standard so I'll be looking for some Akros, tail tidy, Ecu flash and maybe some other shiny bits of anybody has any recommendations or bits for sale?

Welcome in Aaron, cracking choice of bike. I sold my 14be last month it had all the bits on it, ackras, link pipe, lightech rearsets and pazzo stubby levers, Locke on here has the power commander she sported, oh and she also had a quickshifter, anyway the reason I'm saying this is the guy who bought her had been banned or wil be banned for doing 110 and is talking about selling her back to my dealer, however as I gave all the standard bits with the bike, he is converting her to standard and flogging the bits.... So have a look on eBay and there may be some stuff coming up.

Nice bike you got there, you really won't be disappointed.

Welcome

Stephen :D

Thanks for the heads up Stephen, I've been looking on eBay this past few days for Akros, there's a pair on there for £780 without decat in used condition. Seemed a bit steep to me as I see a set sold on here for £400 not so long back. What should I expect to pay? Is £780 a reasonable price?

Thanks Aaron

I think that price is way over the top , Locke on her bought some last year , I would have thought £400 to £500 would be reasonable for carbon ones.... I wish I had transferred my bike back to standard before I sold it .... Doh not that I would have asked that much

Well I've just returned from the Isle of Mann and have racked up over 700 miles on my new bike. A couple of things I've discovered about the bike are, the speedo is miles out and it's racking up more miles then I'm doing. Turns out there's a 16T front sprocket on the bike but no speedo healer so that's a bit annoying. It gets really Hot really fast in traffic! Saw 118 degrees on the dash but I think that was heat soak from turning the bike off at the fuel station? It is really hard to ride smoothly in A mode so I spent most of the trip in STD and even B mode when the wife was on the back to keep things smooth.

Overall I'm happy with the bike, there's actually a really nice rumble on wide open throttle even with the standard exhaust but after hearing one on the island with Akros I am going to have to invest in some if anybody knows of any for sale please let me no

I think the ECU flash may get done sooner rather than later to smooth out A mode and ive also heard you can have the speedo sorted aswell?

ECU flash can also turn the fan on at lower temp.
