Hi everyone, I'm Karen from Ayrshire, my current bike is a 4C8 R1 which is feeling a bit under the weather at the moment! Previously had a 5VY R1, a uk spec NC30 and a CBR600.

Hi, just posted a huge essay in the 4C8 section, got a misfire or no compression on number three, not a coil or injector so it's looking grim! Not done a compression test yet, I'm going to borrow a gauge off a friend sometime this week hopefully!
I'll try and figure out how to post a pic

Easiest way to post a picture is to use tapa talk ,just down load app

Welcome in Karen
Hope you end up with a cheap easy fix with the 4c8 , i've been down the destroyed engine route with my 4xv & it wasn't fun but not the end of the world

Good luck & welcome in to another sweaty sock

I hope so too but it's not looking good
I just want to be certain what the problem is, I'd rather not strip the engine down unnecessarily.
Tried to upload a pic of the bike from my photobucket but it's almost impossible with an iPad so I've got tapa talk downloading

Welcome in Karen, great bike the 4C8, sorry too hear your having problems, some American models suffered with valve guide failure I recall, is yours an import by any chance.

Thanks Donny, I had the 05 model before it but I really like this one, it's definitely a uk bike, I bought it brand new, any uk bikes suffered with valve guide failure?

Welcome to the forum Karen, good luck in sorting your 4c8, what's the name of the one horse power horse that you are trying to wheelie, I bet that takes more skill to ride than your bike
So what's his / her top speed, 0 to 35 mph and how many miles does he / she do on a bag of hay
Welcome
Stephen
